Britta is an E-RYT500 Yoga Teacher, an experienced C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, and massage therapist. She holds a doctorate in Physics (PhD), specialised in medical applications.
She has lived in New Zealand where she learnt a lot from the Maori culture. “Pikorua”, the spiral of simple life where the body joins the mind, became her logo. Britta’s classes are a combination of Hatha Yoga, Pilates, Qi Gong, and general well-being. She teaches how to keep balance in life by creating space in the entire body and by fully lengthening the spine; this is the red line in all Britta’s work.
In 2013, she had the privilege of a yoga teaching training with the inspirational Swami Shantimurti Okan at his Ashram in Ohui, New Zealand. Later, this is also where she completed her training “Yoga for children” and the “RYT 500 hours”.
Britta continued with Accessible Yoga and “Yoga for All” under the guidance of Jivana Heyman.
Always curious about learning new things and developing her knowledge and professional development she furthered her proficiency with Pilates Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Do In, Aqua Yoga.
In her classes, Britta uses props not commonly used in traditional yoga such as bands and all type of balloons. The props make it more ludic, may challenge the course, but may also be a help to make yoga accessible for all. Britta teaches functional yoga and educates her clients to bring yoga in daily life.
In 2014, Britta started off her project Wellbeing at Work which was hosted by several large multinational organisations like for example CERN in Geneva.
Britta is the organiser and brain behind the annual Well-Being Festival held initially in Farges and following in Challex (France).
Actually, she is member of the teaching faculty of the Yoga Therapy Institute Amsterdam. She teaches with great devotion in all modules, presenting the student real case studies, bringing valuable insights on her work with people with disabilities and seniors.
Britta gives regularly workshops or master classes in person as well as on Zoom. Her specialised topics are HSP, neck & back pain, Parkinson, Lupus & Sjögren and yoga for all.
Britta is a nature girl. Although she travels a lot, her harbour remains “La Renardière”, a 400-year old farmhouse in France. It is where she tenders open doors for her Yoga Therapy classes, well-being workshops, aqua wellness and cooking classes using a fresh harvest from her garden. “La “Renardière” (the fox burrow) is a place where you can find calmness and rest for a Yoga Nidra or a guided relaxation by Britta.
