I practice various styles of yoga. My main focus is on healthy movement and proper body alignment, which can be achieved regardless of practiced style. Most often I teach hatha yoga, close second is vinyasa yoga, occasionally power yoga.
I tried many different kinds of sport and yoga is the best thing I found for keeping your body healthy. It also has great benefits for your mind and as you delve deeper it can also offer you life philosophy and community of positive people. In other words it can benefit many key areas of your life. I started teaching to motivate people to practice more.
My yoga journey started around 2016 after I wrecked my spine with unhealthy movement habits and constant overload it in a gym. I teached my first class in 2019. After a brief pause caused by the whole word coming to halt in 2020 I went through teacher training courses and started to teach regularly in 2021.
I believe proper yoga class should not be shorter than 1 hour. Optimal time for hatha yoga practice is 2 hours. In my classes we always start with a short concentration on our body and breath. It is vital to disconnect from your everyday worries and tune in to yourself. Next, we do some breathing exercise to prepare ourself for movement. First part of a class is always slowly warming up. Mostly movement in alignment with breath. Muscles has to warm up and joints need to be properly lubricated so that asana practice brings benefits without causing harm to the body. Second part tends to be slower, with more static positions. This is where both body and mind benefit the most. I usually offer different variations of each pose, because groups tend to contain both beginners and advanced yogis. I'm trying to motivate practitioners to try out even some more difficult poses, so that they can see their limits. But I always remind them to respect these limits and avoid harming their bodies. All my lectures end with some form of a deep relaxation.
