Pooja Cariappa, was born in Shimla and has travelled the length and breadth of India due to her father being an officer in the Indian Navy. She has always been passionate about being healthy and fit right from her early days. This passion has been with her throughout and she has always ensured that fitness plays a large part in her life.
She graduated from LSR College (Lady Shri Ram College for Women) in New Delhi and went on to work in some of India’s largest companies like Essar Cellphone and HDFC Bank. After spending a decade in the corporate life, she decided to move into the field of education as the desire to give back to the society was lit in her. She completed her B. Ed (Bachelors of Education) and for a few years was a teacher in one of the premier schools in Noida.
In 2010 she relocated to Mumbai and this is when the passion for being a part of a healthier lifestyle took CenterStage in her life. Pooja has completed more than half a dozen Mumbai Half Marathons, and taken part in multiple women’s car rallies and is an avid traveller.
Yoga became an important part of her lifestyle and she immersed herself into this new phase of her life and she devoted a period of 5 years to studying all about Yoga. Today she is an M.A. in Yogashastra, P.G. Diploma in Yoga, Diploma in Yogic Education (Teachers Training Course), Diploma in Yoga Therapy, Natural Living & Naturopathy.
Pooja has been teaching yoga for over 10 years now and is extremely dedicated to creating a nurturing and safe environment for the participants to support inward focus and exploration of the body, mind and spirit for at all levels. Her passion is to impart the knowledge that she has acquired through Yoga to all who are in contact with her and to ensure that they all incorporate a healthier lifestyle. She has been instrumental in training a diverse range of participants from 8 years to 80 years. She has successfully worked with multiple pregnancy cases right from their early months upto their delivery. Pooja is eternally grateful that she has been able to make a positive impact in the lives of her participants.
