Yoga is not just touching your toes and doing complicated poses, it is a practice that has the power to reset our mind and provide us with an improved perspective on life. Yoga and meditation, if done right, are lifestyle choices that can transform us into our best selves.
Growing up in India with parents that believed in a yogic lifestyle, I learnt that no amount of material gain should overshadow our right to protect our mind and body. I believe that financial stability alone cannot offer a high quality of life, we need a healthy body and mind too. Yoga gives us that by improving our longevity and making our lifestyle more sustainable. Yoga helps re-engineer our mindset for the better.
However, in today's fast paced and demanding world, we have put our wellbeing on the back burner leading to numerous mental and physical health issues. It doesn't need to be that way though. Adding yoga and meditation to our lives can give us the tools to undo the damage of our current lifestyles. It can improve our longevity, mental health, and the overall quality of our lives. 30 mins or 5 mins or even 2 mins a day is enough to bring about change - every little helps.
With this philosophy, I started teaching Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness since 2020. My yoga teaching is rooted in the breath-based viniyoga. I encourage students to move at their own pace and focus on feeling better internally first through guided meditation practice alongside breathing techniques that provide instant relief from stress and tiredness. My yoga classes are slow paced and help facilitate physical and mental healing.
When I am not teaching Yoga, I teach Professional Development, Management and Business English at a London based university. I am also a freelance copy and content writer specialising in education, health, beauty, and wellbeing related topics. In my free time, I also enjoy cooking and hope to publish a cookbook featuring delicious, authentic Indian recipes that also aid healing.
