Minta is currently a Yoga Alliance 500 hour registered yoga teacher. With over 1,000 hours of teaching experience, she is considered an E-RYT 200 as well. She teaches basic yoga sequences with specific intention behind each pose. Her primary focus is on aligning the body, mind and breath through a detail oriented sequence. She has found that the quality of our inner teacher is invaluable. She teaches how to use props and variations and helps her students develop confidence so that they can practice with strong self-awareness.
Minta is a Pacific Northwest island native who is moved to share her love for yoga with community. Whether in her home town on Orcas Island, in the mountains of Prescott, AZ (where she recently assisted a 200 Hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training), or in her new stomping grounds of Bellingham, WA, she surrenders to the practice, sharing its brilliance every which way. She has studied with a variety of teachers covering a vast array of approaches to yoga. It all began in Southern California when Minta was introduced to a methodology which integrates Iyengar, Ashtanga and Viniyoga aspects. After over a year of studying, she graduated a certified yoga teacher in 2013. Precisely one year later, she traveled to yoga's origin - Rishikesh, India, in search of context and understanding of yoga's roots. With an authentic Indian teacher and a daily regime covering a variety of holistic practices, she expanded her knowledge of yoga and developed a more meaningful personal practice. After three and a half years of studying yoga, holistic health, mindfulness practices, and human development, Minta graduated with her BA in Human Develop through Yoga in 2015 from Prescott College.
Minta has found yoga to be her guide and her dharma. She has not only taught numerous adult classes, specialized workshops and private sessions, but she has also incorporated yoga for kids and teens as well as pre/postnatal yoga classes into her teachings. Her most recent endeavors involve working with the nonprofit, Embody Love Movement, inspiring teens and women to find inner peace and outer purpose through self-love. As a yoga teacher in her community she hopes to give back the love and light that the practice of yoga has given to her. She is also available for private and small group instruction which is encouraged for beginners and those seeking more depth in their practice.
