Michelle is certified in Hatha Yoga (E-RYT 200) and Children/Teen yoga (RCYT) with a Masters degree in Education and many years of experience as an international teacher and yoga instructor. Her expertise in meditation and yin yoga provides a meditative quality, which allows for connection and reflection while the body explores expansion and renewal. She has gained a deep understanding of the philosophy and medical benefits of yoga through study with several experts in the field, including Dr. Senthil Khumar M.D, Ph.D in India and Dr. Subodh Simkhada in Nepal. Michelle’s curiousity also led her to the Radiantly Alive program in Bali, where she studied vinyasa flow with Daniel Aaron. In addition, Michelle enhanced her knowledge of yoga anatomy and physiology with 200 hour course in Yoga Therapy at Loyola Marymount University (May 2014).
Striving to combine her passion for young people and yoga, Michelle has created a dynamic program for kids and teens that combines discussion, reflection and yoga to help empower young people to manage their stress and create clarity and focus in their lives. Michelle’s program combines knowledge gained from Yoga Ed workshops and her 26 years of experience as a classroom teacher. After many successful years in Dubai, UAE, Michelle returned to the United States in 2013, and has lived in California, Michigan and Northern Colorado.
In addition to her yoga training, Michelle has completed three 10-day Vipassana silent meditation courses and has a daily meditation practice to remain centered, calm and present in the moment. It is her compassion and approachable demeanor that differentiates Michelle and allows her to listen purposefully to each client and achieve excellent results. She has experienced the stillness that is created in the center of a true and effective yoga practice and wishes to share this with all that are open to learn.
