Who I am:
My name is Shabadrang Khalsa. I have been practicing yoga and meditation sense 2006. Over the years I have studied with Stacy Gibbons, Hari Dev Singh, Mahan Kirn, Guru Dev and Yogi Amandeep Singh. I have over 100 teaching hours. In my classes you will learn how to balance the physical and energetic body, using traditional yogic teachings from the East. You will explore asana (poses), pranayam (breath), mantra (Chanting), mudra (hand placements), drishti (gazes) and meditation. These tools have been scientifically proven to elevate everyday problems such as stress, depression and enhance the human physical function of the glandular system. It balances the whole human so you can increase your awareness and experience healing and ease in every aspect of your life. These teachings are to shed everything that isn't serving you so connect with your highest self. Outside of the yoga world, I love nature, ayurvedic eating and science.
What I excel at:
Acceptance and allowing space to be. Being reliable and on time. An understanding of human anatomy in relation to yoga postures and mudras breath work, mantra. Deep understanding of ancient traditional teachings of energy channels, nadies, sound, gong, healing and energetic bodies and how they relate to the concept of yoging. Concise use of poses and props for modification making my classes accessible to all levels.
What I teach:
Yoga is the art of dissolving two into one. This happens on many levels and the one we connect mostly easily with is breath and body. Classes usually start with one or two breath exercises that open the physical mental and energetic bodies. Followed by kryas/asnana that strengthen the muscular and nervous system as well as cleans the lymphatic system and activates the glandular system. Ending with deep relaxation and healing.
Classes may also contain a short or long meditation portion. Meditation can involve chanting, modras, drishti *gaze), breath and bandhas, and simply sitting. All classes focus on balancing the five elements, balancing all the chakras of the human body so deep healing through relaxation can be experienced.
The impact I wish to make:
My aim is to deliver traditional unaltered a teaching. The teachings will strengthen and stretch muscles and ligaments, strengthen the nervous system and help the function of the glandular system. Science has shown that when these systems function correctly it elevates common mental and physical health problems such as anxiety, depression and muscle tension and more. My goal is to bring the physical body, mind, emotions into a state of ease and balance so one can experience their true self. This practice leads to an increase in awareness, lightness, ease, and healing in all aspects of life. My wish is to deliver tools to help you live your best life.
