Marrie Prasad is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT500) with Yoga Alliance.
Marrie is one of popular Yoga instructors in Japanese Yogic Industry who has appeared in the front page of the December issue of “Japan Fitness” in 2014, which is the most oldest and major fitness magazine in Japan for the last 30 years in Japanese fitness history.
She is now operating two Yoga schools as director in the west side of Tokyo which contains more than 800 students and also in Rishikesh, India.
The reason why she came into Yoga and fitness was serious depression which once caused herself hospitalized in her mid-thirties. At that time she was suffering from too much over-work and stress as secretary to President of one of a leading food service company in Japan.
She initially started her career as an aerobic dance exercise instructor in 2007 to build strength in her mental and physical condition, to overcome 3 years depression.
After one year experience in aerobic dance exercise instructor, she started learning Yoga and took half year teacher training course in Japan. After completion the course, she also started teaching Yoga classes at weekday evenings and at weekends.
The more she involved and absorbed into Yoga, she has finally fully got recovered from depression.
She was teaching Yoga for four and half year having 50 to 70 lessons per month between November 2007 and March 2012, while working full-time as a secretary.
In May 2012, she decided to devote her whole life into teaching Yoga to help more people and has opened her own Yoga studio in Hachioji in May 2012, which is the major city in the west side of Tokyo upon retiring her job as 15 years experience secretary.
In November 2012, she visited Rishikesh, called “Sacred Mother City of Yoga” in North India to deepen her knowledge in Yogic philosophy and experience in traditional Hatha Yoga participating in six weeks training.
At that time she took RYT 200 in Rishikesh Yog Peeth in North India, Uttarakhand.
In July 2013 she started 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course in Tokyo for the first time and till now she has brought up about 60 Yoga teachers and her second Yoga school, Rishikesh Yogashala is now the biggest Yoga school in the west Tokyo which teaches traditional Hatha Yoga.
Marrie’s life-time vision is to establish the first Yoga ashram in Japan where anybody like non-parents children or solitary seniors can live and stay in safely, bringing up Yoga teachers who can teach not only asanas but also to understand true origin of Yoga, Yogic way of living, ethics, morals and can feel happiness in devotion and contribution for the society and other people to make a better world through Yogic wisdom.
She is also living in Karma Yoga to devote to people is her true joy and happiness.
