Fiona Smart PhD is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Fiona has a BSc in Physiology and a PhD in Molecular Biology for the University of Cambridge UK. She continued as a research scientist at TSRI, San Diego researching synaptic plasticity for 6 years, including researching the role of cold induced RNA binding proteins in the brain.
Fiona and her husband then decided to change their lifestyle and rebuild an old Pilgrims house (Mas Pelegri) into a retreat and training centre, in the Province of Girona, Spain. The centre is off grid and they want to promote an active lifestyle where people reduce their carbon footprint and lead a lifestyle more in tune with nature. Mas Pelegri is now a registered ecologic hotel and training centre and has been open 12 years. Our training business has been running over 15 years.
Fiona and Gareth offer yoga and cycling retreats, cycling training camps, triathlon training camps, activity and wellness holidays and retreats, as well as family activity trips. Everyone is well come. All ages and all abilities.
Fiona is also an international sports injury and massage therapist. Past competitive sports she has competed in include cycling, triathlon, running, orienteering, downhill skiing, hockey and sailing.
We believe in Fit for Life. We are at our happiest when we are introducing people to yoga or cycling for the first time what ever age. Yes all ages welcome. Everyone can get out there and lead a happy healthy and active life.
