Ferdz is a graphic designer, creative conceptualist, and lifestyle photographer whose yoga journey started in 2015. He initially approached the practice for its weight loss and physical benefits. He tried different styles and eventually came to enjoy the stringent practice of Ashtanga Yoga and the playfulness of Vinyasa Yoga. Yin Yoga also added another aspect to his practice, offering introspective and meditative moments.
He started formally teaching in 2018 after a 200-hour Vinyasa and Yin Yoga training from Community Fitness led by teachers from Yoga District Washington D.C. His continued education includes the “Pranayamas of Classical Yoga” under the Mohans at Svastha Yoga and trained under Jason Crandell for "Preventing and Managing Common Yoga Injuries", "Art of Teaching Beginners" and, "The Art of Yoga Sequencing"
Ferdz encourages students to be guided by their breath in his classes and to approach asanas with a sense of play and exploration. To modify and adapt their practice based on their uniqueness. To go beyond asanas and explore the nuances of breath and complexity of the mind. Hopefully, students would find their “Ah-ha” moments in class which he likewise enjoyed discovering in his own practice.
