Yogasāna and Nādā Teacher, Retreat Leader
Three decades ago Yoga entered my life. Since then it has been an intricate part of it. Initially my practice included meditation and other mind-centered practices to cope with a life threatening illness. A personal immersion into meditation and asāna, occupied the next 10 years of my life.
In 1999 I did a solo quest to Nepal and India, a completely serendipitous occurrence lead me to an ashram in the jungles of southern India. There, I obtained a teaching certification.
Over the last decade my focus of study is in deeper mindfulness practices through mantra, breath attention, practical life-supporting philosophy, and the alignment of all that is Yoga. I recently, returned to India to complete an additional 200-hour training in Sanskrit and nādā (sound) Yoga. This deep immersion once again in the country of Yoga's origin has adds to insights I share as a teacher.
Teaching clients span from: cancer patients to at-risk youth to military members to everyday folk.
I hopes to have the honor of meeting you whether on the mat, suspended in a silk hammock, splashing about in a pool, on top of a standup paddleboard or sitting before the harmonium sharing sacred sound within each of us.
A few years ago I founded theYoke, an international yoga non-profit, theYoke's formation arose from a desire to serve yoga teachers, studio owners and students. After observing the evolution of yoga in the US. Our main mission is to offer a hub for Yoga folk to unite, serve each other, and create sustainability on their yogic path. Please check out the Yoga hub created at: www.theYoke.Yoga.
