I strive to bring a gentle approach to the practice of yoga believing that carving out time for self-care is important. Bringing together mind and body to make space for internal reflection and to release daily stressors can bring a sense of calm and relaxation to your day.
I have taught a variety of fitness classes over the years including low impact aerobics; step classes; spin classes and Group Power (weight training format) and have found practicing yoga brings me balance and serenity.
I studied under Dianne Bondy's 'Yoga For All' teacher training program and received my 200 hour certification in July 2019. Additional courses completed include: an in-person 6 hour Chair Yoga Workshop October 2019 at Blossoming Lotus Yoga Studio with a YACEP provider; an 8 hour online 'Yin Yoga for Your Body' course led by Bernie Clark through Yoga International in August 2021; an 8 hour online 'Your Spine, Your Yoga: The Course' led by Bernie Clark and Dr. Stuart McGill through Yoga International in August 2021; and a 20 hour online course Yoga Medicine Yoga Anatomy by Tiffany Cruikshank through Yoga International in October 2023.
I enjoy sharing my passion, initially teaching Restorative Yoga, and Yin Yoga at a local studio until March 2020. Currently I teach a private accessible Chair Yoga class at a local treatment centre. I am also leading several classes weekly at a local Yoga Studio including a Lunch Time Reset class (a gentle yoga flow or a Yin based class), Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga and my latest class offering Chair Fit Yoga Fusion (a chair yoga 2.0 where the first half of class uses the chair, and the second half of class focuses on using weights, bands and body weight resistance to build strength with a focus on a different body part each week).

I like to blend functional movement with beginner yoga to create Movement for Beginners that anyone can participate in and enjoy. I use props such as chairs, straps, yoga blocks and even pool noodles! You will find many Chair Yoga classes, gentle stretching and easy flow classes on my channel as well as my 'Strike A Pose: Spotlight On" shorts where I highlight various ways to alter a specific pose using props to make it either more accessible or enjoyable for participants.
Yoga is a practice that can be enjoyed by everyone!
