Growing up inactive, overfed and undernourished; weight and body image issues were a constant for most of my life. Beyond giving my thumbs a good Tetris workout, no form of physical activity ever fit. My life was filled with stress, anxiety, chronic pain and self-judgement. Years spent working as a corporate Chef had left me drained, unhealthy and overweight. Yoga and Mindfullness shifted that. Yoga leaves me feeling empowered in my own body, something previously unknown to me. This practice transformed me. Not just physically, but emotionally as well. A consistent yoga and meditation practice has helped me to find inner calmness and self-appreciation. Ten months after my first yoga experience, I was a certified teacher! This stuff works and I’m determined to share the magic with anyone who is open to shifting what’s possible.
I strive to spread this passion for Yoga with anyone who’s willing and firmly believe that the benefits are accessible to everyone. Yoga and meditation allow time to disconnect from day-to-day stresses and go within. Every body and mind can find a path towards optimal health through consistent, compassionate, practice.
I’m also a Cordon Bleu trained Chef and Culinary Nutrition Expert. I work as a freelance consultant; developing recipes for some of Canada’s largest food retailers as well as helping individuals bring more awareness to their diet. I love to see the shift in people that start to live more vibrantly through mindful eating, nourishing food choices, and a consistent yoga practice.
