I dabbled in yoga on and off since the late 1990s, but it wasn't until a health scare in 2006 that I took it seriously. Even then it was a roundabout path, from biking to Zumba, until I eventually landed back in the lap of yoga.
As a teacher I often say that if I can facilitate someone tuning into their physical body for 2 minutes, I've done my job.
As we move out of global hibernation, it's natural to feel increased anxiety and stress. I know from my own experience that yoga can be a effective and powerful tool to calm the nervous system and cultivate a different way of being.
I'm also a firm believer in Restorative yoga's efficacy as a means of getting people to tune into their bodies' needs and carve out a restful space to relax. I love to incorporate singing bowl sound bath into these classes for an even more potent experience.
My passion is working one-on-one with folks - creating the space for quiet calm, and being able to see their accomplishments unfold over time.
