I have been active my whole life, from team sports to martial arts to snowboarding, running, mountain biking and tennis. Unsurprisingly, my first yoga class - 15 years ago - was in a gym, and was a purely physical introduction to the practice. After dabbling in hatha and vinyasa for years, I started to explore the deeper aspects of yoga, including yoga nidra and meditation. After a solo yoga expedition to Costa Rica, I was hooked, and wanted to learn more about this empowering practice.
I completed my first 200 hour Teacher Training with Alanna Kaivalya and Kay Kay Clivio at Pure Yoga NYC in 2010. The same year, I was introduced to the Tantric Hatha style of Zuna Yoga and was inspired by its depth. I left my corporate job in 2013 to join the Zuna Yoga team. I now travel internationally, coordinate and co-teach our events, and connect with beautiful people all over the world.
Teachers and scholars who have inspired me include Doug Keller, Rodney Yee, Swami Jnaneshvara Bharati, Georg Feuerstein, Robert Frawley, Sensei Tim Hoover, and Bruce Lee.
I'm a chemical engineer by education, a science nerd at heart, and a lover of knowledge and words. I'm a fierce Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit player. I speak German & French fluently, and after much gallavanting around the globe, can competently order food in a restaurant in about 10 other languages.
My classes encourage the development of calm, centered strength, and always end with meditation.
