Yoga to me is a journey, and a continuously flourishing lifestyle. I believe yoga is a daily practice and life of intention that occurs on and off the mat, a way of life that gently encourages letting go of anything that isn’t serving us or allowing the best version of ourselves. Yoga to me has become a tool to learn to embody self-kindness that then allows a more authentic compassion towards others. After practicing yoga for several years intermittently as a form of another exercise routine, when a consistent yoga practice became a part of my life in 2013, it was then that I was deeply awakened to the powerful benefits of yoga physically, mentally, and spiritually. I am a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and enjoy when I am able to incorporate my passion for yoga and mindfulness into my clinical practice with clients. I am eager to continue growing in my knowledge of yoga, holistic approaches to wellness, and the intersection of physical and mental health. I received my 200-hour teacher training at Greensboro Downtown Yoga through Savvy Soul Yoga and Mindfulness School in 2018.
I seek to create a safe space in my classes where all find a place to belong, where vulnerability is welcome and growth is encouraged, and where all are reminded of their inner value and light to offer the world. My style incorporates an energetic and active vinyasa practice paired with a grounding and mindful setting of intention, utilization of pranayama and meditation practice. I enjoy various joyful movement and embodying an active lifestyle (especially when it can be done outdoors!), traveling, being by the water, hiking, cheering on the Tar-Heels and sharing quality time with family, my husband and two kiddos, and the company of our circle of friends in Greensboro, NC.
