I began my yoga journey while as a young Army Officer, deployed to Iraq via home DVD. As a long time loner and a perfectionist, in retrospect it isn't surprising that I experienced depression and anxiety. With an extensive background in dance and fitness, I always thought yoga would be fun and easy. After my first class I found it was NOT as easy as I imagined, but the true surprise was the sense of peace and joy I found. The more yoga classes I took, the more I discovered that yoga had the ability to meet me wherever I was in my physical, mental, and emotional state. Yoga helped me through injuries, two pregnancies, and the topsy turvy life of an Army Wife and full time mother.
My classes are a blend of playful exertion to find your physical edge and cultivating a calm acceptance of your body. Every class includes a strong workout that respects your abilities, yogic principles that can be used everyday, deep relaxation, and laughter - usually at my bad jokes. Come join me on your mat, in your body, in that most fleeting of moments, now.
