Krishna (Unnikrishnan) is a dedicated and passionate yoga teacher who took to the tradition of yoga as he realized that a great bounty of peace and tranquility is there to be gained through it. Coming from a family rooted in the tradition of Ayurveda or Science of life, the indigenous tradition of India, Krishna was drawn to the elevating system of yoga after dabbling in other streams of livelihood. In yoga, he found his future life.
To know and learn yoga in its pristine essence he spent few years at the Sivananda ashrams founded by Swami Vishnudevananda, a disciple of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh. Living in the ashram, he was introduced to the nuances of the limbs of yoga especially asana, pranayama, dhyana etc. After gaining proficiency in teaching yoga he was asked to teach classes at the Sivananda yoga, Trivandrum centre. The coming years saw him getting the responsibility of the director in charge of the centre. Krishna proved his mettle in running the day to day affairs of the centre flawlessly and efficiently. During this time he conducted yoga workshops and seminars for many companies and Government departments.
In recognition of his administrative ability and teaching skills, Ayuryoga eco ashram invited him to take up the responsibility of conducting yoga teachers training courses there which he did in complete earnestness. After a year he found himself teaching yoga philosophy, pranayama and meditation to an international audience at the reputed Somatheeram resort at his native place of Trivandrum, in the green Kerala.
