Kaon Iesaki has been teaching yoga, on and off the mat, for twenty years, though she had no plans to become a teacher when she took her first Yoga Teacher Training in Japan in 1999.

Kaon’s passion for yoga has always been about exploring the question, "Why is it that I feel soothed and spacious in my body, my mind and my spirit after a yoga session?" If we can bring awareness to those sensations more often, we can live more easily every day with less stress. Kaon describes her yoga style as "yoga as a way of being".

Kaon is deeply grateful to share her yoga experience. In addition to directing her own RYT-200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, Kaon also welcomes and accepts invitations to lead events and workshops around the world.

Her very first introduction to yoga occurred in 1980. She says she still remembers that moment. Upon seeing a feature article about yoga in a magazine for teenagers, her inner voice whispered, "I WANT TO DO YOGA!!"

After completing her first Yoga Teacher Training in 1999 -- to deepen her understanding and knowledge -- Kaon took a second Yoga Teacher Training. Since graduation, her passion for exploring has not stopped. She continues to take many yoga classes in different styles, and to study Buddhism, animism, psychology, body work, massage, nutrition, the science of nursing, naturopathy and more. Her yoga path has led her throughout Japan and abroad, including Taiwan, Norway, Costa Rica, and the United States.

Kaon’s yoga is accessible to everyone. Because the focus of her work is on using body movement as a means to touch the inner self, all students, regardless of physical condition, will feel the difference after a yoga session with her.

Kaon’s YTT students say that her yoga style is easy to integrate into their everyday lives. They report that their lives have been completely changed by her practice. They tell her "Thanks to your yoga teachings, I live more easily, with less stress, in my daily life."
