Julie Norman, BS (nutrition/dietetics), E-RYT
Julie delights in sharing yoga with everyone she meets. Her fun, foundational teaching focuses on the spiritual and energetic aspects of yoga equal to the physical practice. This offers clients soul nourishing experiences that enhance personal growth and well-being from a place of self-love which she believes is essential for both individual and collective peace.
After several years of personal practice Julie received her 200-hour RYT in 2009 from Bhumi's Yoga and Wellness. Since then she's attended workshops with leaders in the field including Amrit Desai, Todd Norian, Seane Corn, Ana Forrest, Laura Cornell and MC Yogi.
Julie's an active volunteer for the Akron Peace Project, The Big Love Network, Free Akron Yoga and Stewart's Caring Place Cancer Wellness Center. Her personal recovery and career as a registered dietitian in the eating disorders field inspired the creation of Body Karma: Change your body image, Change the world. This signature yoga program empowers women in peaceful body image and aligned eating so they may enjoy life to the fullest.
In addition to classes, Julie provides one-to-one Body Karma Peace Coaching, general private yoga sessions, workshops and retreats, and consults on special projects. She's available to speak publicly on yoga, eating disorders, body image, mindful eating, stress management, wellness, women's empowerment, spirituality, creativity and entrepreneurship. In 2014 she published her first book "Poems from the Path of Peace, Vol.1", a collection of musings from her own recovery journey.
Julie enjoys immersing herself in nature, traveling and sharing this sacred life journey with an ever expanding circle of friends, family and animals.
