Julia Siporin is a Registered Yoga Teacher E-RYT 500  with Yoga Alliance.  As a result of completing the 200 & 300 hour Teacher Training programs with Scott Anderson (Alignment Yoga founder) and a 200 hr YTT with Sarahjoy Marsh (Daya Foundation). Yoga Alliance acknowledges the completion of these yoga teacher trainings with approved and active Registered Yoga Schools (RYS) and has taught a sufficient number of hours to qualify as and E-RYT 500 instructor.

Julia taught the Alignment Yoga 200 hour teacher trainings between 2016 - 2019 and assisted in Scott Anderson’s Alignment Yoga 500 hour training at Eugene Yoga Studio.

Julia came to yoga in 1973 and meditation in 1975. She became enamored with the strong anatomy and mindfulness components of Alignment Yoga.

Using the elements of yoga asana, pranayama, bandhas, kriyas and mindful awareness, Julia offers students the opportunity to explore the workings of their own mind in the landscape of their body to develop greater ease, resilience, and equanimity while building sustainable strength.

Most of her Alignment Yoga classes are focused on healthy aging - addressing balance, agility, strength, healthy range of motion, maintaining bone density, addressing joint laxity, and embodied awareness.

Julia offers private yoga sessions.

She has led numerous yoga and meditation retreats in Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Mexico where there are lots of amazing birds – her other passion.

Pre-Covid, she taught yoga at Eugene Yoga, the Downtown Athletic Club, and The Trauma Healing Project.  She's developed and taught a variety of series classes: Yoga for Healthy Aging, Yoga for Healthy Bones,  Yoga for Healthy Hips and Back, and Yoga for Bird Watching to address the needs of those with springtime "Warbler's Neck" 😉.

In addition to yoga, she meditates daily, practices Pilates and Qigong, and is a Morning Altars Earth artist and certified teacher to teach people how to create intentional impermanent art using nature materials and enhance their relationship with nature along the way.

Julia is an avid bird watcher leading monthly bird-walks and teaches workshops on bird song identification at the local arboretum. She participates in numerous citizen-science projects related to bird counts each year.

Julia and her husband live in a garden paradise which they share with their beloved cat.
