Amanda began exploring yoga in 2010, spending time on and off her mat until 2016 when she created a consistent and daily practice at Yoga Fever in Grand Rapids. She found release in the heat and truly soaked up the mind-body-spirit connection that she found so beneficial for her mental, physical, and emotional health. In September 2017, Amanda took on her 200-Hour Teacher Training program at YF while also attending her last full year of graduate school.
Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor and seeks to bring her knowledge of yoga into the world of mental health as a holistic approach to clinical counseling and wellness. She also has a special interest in trauma-informed yoga and hones her competence through workshops and continuing education.
Amanda values mindfulness, focus of the breath, cultivating empowerment through the physical body, and these themes are present in her classes. She aims to have students experience mental clarity and calmness while flowing with intention and appreciation for themselves and their own individual practices. Aside from teaching yoga and attending grad school, Amanda loves music, nature, traveling, hiking, cultivating wellness, and spending time by the water.
