Hi, I'm Caitlin! I've been practicing yoga since 2006 and teaching since 2017.
I knew almost from the very first class I took, that I wanted to be a yoga teacher. My personal practice, including study of the history and culture of yoga, the 8 Limbs, and taking the practice off the mat, has affected every aspect of my life for the better and I'm passionate about sharing this beautiful gift that is Yoga.
In addition to being a certified yoga instructor, I have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and I am a Certified Culinary Nutrition Expert. I believe in an evidence-based approach to everything I teach, from creating healthy diets to instructing proper alignment in my yoga classes. I am in awe of the intricate way yoga weaves ancient teachings, spirituality, and modern science to create a complete practice that nourishes the entire Being, mind-body-spirit.
I completed my 200hr and 300hr teacher trainings with Wren Doggett, owner and director of The Lotus Seed. Along with learning how to teach, I deepened my personal practice and improved my communication skills. I use what I've learned in everyday life as well as in my teaching.
In December 2017 I created my own yoga school, Luminaire School of Yoga, and registered with the Yoga Alliance. I am now hosting 200hr teacher trainings, along with teaching private and group yoga classes.
In 2023 I completed a trauma-informed teacher training through the Prison Yoga Project, and I have begun to incorporate trauma-informed practices into my everyday teaching.
