I began my yoga practice journey in 2011, seeking an alternative to high impact sports, weight training, and other similar activities. As a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and Certified Child & Youth Care Counsellor (CYC) within the Province of Alberta, accessing yoga and other wellness programming regularly without financial worries is one of the reasons I became a yoga teacher in 2017.
My yoga philosophy has always been to provide yoga & wellness for every Body-Mind-Soul; providing opportunities for unique yoga classes to build on one’s yoga practice or learn something new on and off their mat. I am also bilingual in French, and love to practice and teach in both languages. I currently teach in-studio locally in Spruce Grove, AB where I am teaching Kids and Adults on their mat. I have also connected with a campground in Drayton Valley, AB where I teach a variety of yoga including Goat Yoga, Kids yoga, Family Yoga, Doga, Yoga Nidra and other fun classes during the spring/summer months they are open; we are hoping to add retreats and other fun activities for me to facilitate in years to come! I will also be teaching at the non-profit animal rescue Cause for Critters in Drayton Valley, AB for Cat Yoga and other fun Yoga, Meditation and Reiki Sessions for pawsitive exposure to Adopt rescue animals.
As well as in-person yoga, regularly provide online classes & sessions of Yoga, Meditation & Reiki through my website, Facebook Live and Zoom (as SolaireLunaireYoga) where I work from a low-cost philosophy and where all my drop-in public classes are free/by-donation; I am passionate about accessible wellness programming without the financial obligation or requirement to participate. I am blessed to have a very supportive Husband, a full-time job & in-studio classes schedule that provide me with the opportunity to pursue this foundation for my online (and maybe one day in-person) classes.
I am an RYT-200: Registered Yoga Teacher (2017) with the Yoga Alliance and am trained in the following capacities on and off my yoga mat:
