Ewa Bigio is a Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga teacher based in Auckland, New Zealand. She is the creator of the Yoga Fundamentals: The Keys to Yoga course taught twice a year.
Yoga Fundamentals: The Keys to Yoga is a course that explores key concepts of yoga pertaining to the 3rd limb of the eightfold path of yoga, namely yoga postures and movement. The course is taught as a series of workshops over five weeks, once weekly, and is attended by both experienced and inexperienced practitioners seeking a more elevated understanding of the internal work of breathing, focus, anatomical alignment and techniques for muscular activation and engagement. These deeper core principles are taught within the prism of the Sun Salutation sequences with particular emphasis on joint safety and modifications. Several times a year she also runs one day workshops focusing on different areas of the practice including arm-balancing, inversions and headstands based upon principles of Yoga Fundamentals.
Ewa teaches a fusion of hatha and vinyasa yoga in her Level 1 and All Levels yoga classes, attended by students of all ages and socio-cultural diversity in the cosmopolitan suburb of Ponsonby. Her Yin classes are popular and attended by a wide cross section of practitioners from elite atheletes through to those in injury rehab.
