Lisa Kamran is a yoga instructor, mindfulness educator, registered social worker, and sacred activist. Lisa has always found sanctuary amongst nature which inspires the way she is in connection with others, attuned, grounded and compassionate. Lisa’s offerings are also rooted in trauma-informed and community-centered practices, leaning into the whole-being experience.
Lisa’s personal experiences with anxiety and chronic pain throughout her life often created feelings of being disconnected and overwhelmed. During university, while living abroad in the Netherlands, Lisa’s friend introduced her to the art of yoga and meditation. For Lisa, the practice felt like an invitation to come home to the body, which quite simply became a practice to support her in her physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing from then on. Her interest in diving deeper into the practice rippled into years of practicing, absorbing, and sharing yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices. Lisa’s playfulness and authenticity allows her to be a dynamic and compassionate space holder.
Her calling to this work has brought her around the world with the wisdom offered through teacher training and retreats exploring the practices of Prana Vinyasa, Hatha Yoga, Vipassana, MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction), Mindful Education, trauma-informed yoga for young people, Transformative Educational Leadership and prenatal yoga. Lisa respects the roots and the wisdom of these ancient practices and offers her gratitude to the many teachers and cultures that have tended to the practice before her and will proceed beyond her.
Lisa continues to lean into this work as she gently lands in Toronto, Ontario with her partner, Fandi, and pup, Juno.
