Completed RYT200 and 300 with Cyndi Lee Om Yoga Teacher Training
Patty has over 35 years experience in the wellness industry and shifted to mind-body instruction only in 1998. Her love of movement blossomed after spending her years in high school and at Penn State as a competitive synchronized swimmer. Patty is a Power Pilates trained teacher, with a second certification through Physicalmind Institute and additional training through The Pilates Center in Boulder and educational workshops with many of the nation's most notable educators. She has been a "teacher of teachers" since 2002.
"At my very first yoga class, at a conference in NYC, I fell asleep and thought there has to be more to yoga then just laying still and breathing. This was a waist of time I thought, I napped and ended up with a kink in my neck. The last day of the conference I took from a totally different teacher who moved me, taking the "mental distractions" out of me before the stillness. This was what I needed at the moment. What blew me away was the sensation that flooded my body. I suddenly had this feeling of self-worth that unfortunately I lacked for the first 30+ years of my life. That class changed my life."
Patty jumped into teaching yoga in 1998 after completing Certifications with YogaFit and AAAI. After a 5-year hiatus from teaching yoga (due to time constraints with owning a business and building the Pilates Program at her studio) she went through Aerial Yoga Training and developed one of the first aerial programs in the Wake County area. Patty was ready to get back to teaching traditional yoga and sought out the internationally recognized Om Yoga Teacher Training with Cyndi Lee. A new chapter of life emerged.
"I feel so blessed and treasure the opportunity for each and every class I teach. My goal is to challenge people at the level needed on that given day. Challenging does not mean physical, it may mean mental or emotional. I strive to meet students where they are and find their inner beauty and strength."
