Her background includes working in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and fitness education specialist. She’s also trained in and teaches dance-fitness, pilates, TRX and Aerial Yoga. Her yoga teacher training and twenty year yoga practice is deeply rooted in alignment based Vinyasa, with an emphasis on Ashtanga, Iyengar and Baptiste lineages and she’s completed much of her yoga training within these ancient yogic traditions. In addition to completing her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training in Hatha and Hot Power Vinyasa, she’s also devoted an additional 200 hours of study to Yin Yoga and completed her Professional 300-hr Yoga Teacher Training at Down Under School of Yoga, under the guidance of Natasha Rizopoulos, accompanied by some of the most amazing veteran yoga teachers and several talented Boston yoga teachers such as, Barbara Benagh, Claire Este McDonald, Gregor Singleton, Masaaki Okamura, Justine Wiltshire Cohen, Larisa Foreman, Kate Robinson, Nicole Clark & Kate O’Donnell, among others. Char also trained as a Meditation Teacher with David Nicthern, Senior Teacher of the Shambala Buddhist Lineage and she's completed 100-hours of evidence-based Mindfulness training. In addition, she works as a Professional in Reiki, Thai Bodywork and Sound Healing and offers Crystal Bowl Meditation workshops and Sound Baths throughout New England. Char is dedicated to helping students build both strength and flexibility, restore and maintain balance, move freely and without pain. She draws upon her diverse background to deliver classes that are not only safe and effective for the body and a compassionate journey inward, but also empowering and light-hearted. As a reminder to practitioners to enjoy the journey while nurturing heart, mind and body. As a lifelong learner and an observer of svadhyaya, Char is not only engaged in regular self-study, but often pursues educational opportunities that support her multidisciplinary teaching toolbox.
