I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Biology(1996) from the University of St. Francis, Joliet IL.
I have been practicing yoga for 6 years now, and I completely fell in love with it the very first time I stepped on to the mat. What began as only an avenue to exercise, has turned into a passion. The more I practiced, the more I began to feel more and more compelled to begin the journey of committing myself to learning all that I can about the ancient practice of yoga.
Being a larger than average sized Yogi at 6'4" and 295 pounds I hope to help all people realize that yoga is for everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, religious affiliation, or lack thereof, body size, body type or physical limitations, and share this transforming art to help people live a healthier and more peaceful life.
By taking on the role of teacher as well as student, my highest goal is to practice and learn all I can about yoga, so that I can share this ancient and wonderful art with as many people as I possibly can. My vision is to use yoga as a vehicle to lift up my fellow human beings. I am passionate about being active in the yoga community, through supporting the studios and teachers near me, and bringing awareness to those that suffer from mental illnesses & giving back to the local community.
Outside of the studio, I am an artist, and poet, with a deep love for all things outdoors, and a passion for helping others.
