People come to their mats to celebrate their strength and courage as warriors of their lives. My hope is that through movement and breath, I can help them realize their power, remember their courage, and honor their space.
My first experience with yoga was while visiting family in Seoul in 2007. Upon returning to the states, I continued to practice yoga in Colorado, this time with a Kundalini instructor through 2009, when I went to DC for college. It wasn't until 2011 when I refound yoga during a particularly difficult time in my young adult life, as so many of us do. It was in yoga that I eventually began to refind my body, my foundation, and found that through breath and movement I had tools to navigate my life. My practice at Studio DC with instructors Courtney DeRuiter, Christine Kontra, and Johanna O'Connell Kracke (no in California) opened new doors and opportunities in my personal practice, and their guidance helped shaped the yogi I was to become today.
After moving to Boston in early 2014, I found a different side of yoga, with the added Bostonian quirks and grace, practicing almost daily with Daniel Max, Amy Coleman, Kathy Tarnoff, and Matt Rutkowski. I decided to take my personal experience and growth with yoga to the next after another rough patch in later that year, and began one of my most transformative journeys with JP Centre Yoga's first 200hr YTT with Daniel Max and Magi Eisenberg.
I now reside in Virginia, where I have been blessed with the opportunity to bring my practice to the residents of Newport News, Yorktown, and the surrounding areas. My focus has been to offer inward focus through colorful movement and mindful breath, pushing my students to find their potentials--having fun all the while.
