Hello!!
I have been practicing yoga for about eight years now, and my journey has come very far. When I was first introduced to yoga, I instantly realized its therapeutic benefits through relieving my back pain. Therefore, I began to practice regularly, and within a year I became obsessed with yoga's ability to connect my mind, body and spirit. I always looked forward to deepening my practice each time I came to my mat.
Naturally, I wanted to become more knowledgeable about yoga. I also started to feel this need to help others experience the same benefits I had. This desire lead me to complete the 200-hour yoga teacher training course through South Okanagan Yoga Academy. During my training, I learned detailed instruction in various styles of Hatha Yoga such as Ashtanga, Sivananda, Flow and Yin. My training also included an in-depth study of meditation, anatomy and pranayama. The training changed my life, and ever since I've been enthusiastically educating and teaching others the benefits and practice of yoga.
Teaching has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Each time I begin a class, I feel excited about the ability to make connections with my students. I love hearing about their yoga journeys, and sharing our experiences together. I also love guiding my students as they deepen their own practices.
During my university exchange studies in Australia, I taught free yoga classes to the community of international students I lived with. This brought everyone closer together, and I deeply enjoyed the connections I made with new people from all around the world.
I currently teach yin, yang-yin, flow and beginner warm/hot yoga classes in Calgary. I am also a Chopra Center Certified Instructor in Primordial Sound Meditation.
My other interests include cooking and learning new healthy recipes, practicing my photography skills, skiing, hiking, learning new things, traveling and attending cycling classes.
