Like many other yoginis, my path to teaching was an unusual one. In 2005 I began my career as a television journalist. It was the realization of a childhood dream. For the next decade, I excelled in news; winning numerous awards and moving up to larger markets. During that time a colleague of mine introduced me to yoga. As a distance runner I found the asanas to be incredibly helpful to my training and recovery. I was all about the asana...little did I know how much meditation and philosophy would really change my life.
My journalism career was ended due to a toxic relationship that I couldn't leave until my life blew up. At a crossroads in my life, I knew that I wanted to help other people find the strength to leave their bad relationships. The benefits of meditation and yoga philosophy helped me get through a chaotic time in my life and also realize why I made the choices I did. I learned so much - it was powerful - I knew I needed to share that with others.
Bad relationships take a toll on our minds and bodies. Yoga has the ability to open people's minds and help them reconnect with their bodies. As a public speaker, I am sharing my story, the lessons I learned, and how yoga helped me. I incorporate yoga into my speeches to help others find strength, confidence, and learn to love their bodies.
Yoga comes to us when we need it most. When we are pursuing our passion the universe finds a way to make everything fall in place. I am grateful and honored to share that in anyway possible.
