Hamish entered the professions out of university and worked to become a litigation partner in a prominent local law firm.
When he and his wife began a family he resigned his partnership and stayed at home as primary carer for his children.
After having played many sports throughout life Hamish took up yoga as a 40-year old. He was adept at the practice and worked hard to learn. Hamish trained with Baron Baptiste and became New Zealand's first certified Baptiste teacher.
Hamish has also trained in Budokon Yoga with its founder, Cameron Shayne, and became New Zealand's first certified teacher of the Budokon Yoga practice.
Hamish teaches a strong class and speaks to each student's individual potential and the integration of body, mind and spirit through practice. Hamish, together with his wife Margo, owns and runs Apollo Power Yoga in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Hamish is lead trainer of the Apollo Power Yoga teacher training and is sought after as leader of retreats and workshops. The teacher training programme, callled Step into your Power, has run since 2016. It provides Hamish with his greatest challenge as a teacher and draws out the very best of him.
