Yoga has been in my life since I was a teenager and although I drifted away occasionally over the years it has always welcomed me back. I have been very lucky to have had the pleasure of learning from a variety of teachers along the way, all of whom eventually inspired me to take the plunge and train as a yoga teacher.

My decision to train formally as a yoga teacher occurred last year.  In 2013 I started my formal training with Teach Yoga Ltd (founded and directed by Dr. Elena Voyce, a truly inspirational yogini ).   I came to her with ongoing postural problems and injuries, resulting from my pregnancies and trips to the gym.  With her tutorage and no-nonsence approach (which focuses on core activation and optimum alignment) she has helped me to discover yoga with a fresh pair of eyes. I have seen positive changes to my body which I never thought possible and my love and passion for all things yoga has grown beyond all recognition.  My training finally brought home, the fact that out of all the fitness fads I have ever put my energies into, yoga is the one practice  which has helped me to achieve lasting positive changes.  In August 2014 I gained my 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification.  In September 2015 I gained an accredited diploma from the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY).

Teaching Style

I teach Hatha Yoga; a combination of posture work (asanas), breath control (pranayama) and relaxation.   In terms of teaching style I like to keep it varied, lighthearted and fun.  My classes include dynamic flowing sequences and more 'mindful' work where postures are held a little longer to build muscular strength and greater mind-body awareness.   So, whether you are a complete beginner, an experienced yogi/ini, are looking for a energetic vinyasa flow style or a more restorative class I can cater for your needs.  Yoga is a very personal journey for all of us, so my teaching reflects this.  I also offer one to one or small group sessions if you are looking for more individual attention.

I am also an experienced perinatal and postnatal teacher and teach weekly pregnancy and mum and baby yoga.  Please see www.yogawithsarah.org for details.
