Jennifer Hessmer is a Yoga Alliance RYT500 Yoga Teacher, Certified Personal Trainer, USA Track and Field Level 1, RRCA Certified Running Coach.  

Jennifer is also an independent yoga teacher, personal trainer, running coach, and health counselor on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.   Jennifer currently works as a private and semi-private yoga teacher at Pure Yoga, NYC and as a running coach for NYRR’s Team for Kids.

Jennifer integrates nutrition into her sessions and group classes.  She has a certification in health coaching from Integrative Nutrition Institute and the Natural Gourmet Institute.   She was formerly employed at Equinox Fitness Clubs as a Tier 3 Personal Trainer and The Running Center as an assistant running coach.

On a personal note, Jennifer has run 9 marathons, New York three times, Paris and London, Richmond, Philadelphia, Marine Corps and Chicago Marathons and numerous ½ marathons; most recently the Prague Half Marathon and Reykjavik Half-Marathon.   In 2010, Jennifer competed in her first series of triathlons.

Jennifer is originally from Glenview, Ill and Darien, CT. She attended the University of Richmond and graduated with a degree in Leadership and Women's Studies. After a 9 year stint as a paralegal and sales and marketing director at Skadden, Arps and Showtime Networks, respectively, Jennifer retired from her first career and followed her passion in health and fitness and helping others.
