Julia is a dedicated practitioner of Vinyasa Flow. She has grown to appreciate the meditative quality of linking breath with movement and reaps the benefits of movement mediation every day. With strong foundations in Ashtanga and Rocket Yoga, Julia has developed a personal practice that combines traditional alignment with dynamic functional movement, a fusion of tradition with a contemporary twist and fun approach.
She promotes the idea of understanding the body with totality to facilitate better mobility and movement. This is very much reflected in her teachings of anatomy and the fascial body. As a self-confessed 'anatomy geek,' she revels in new techniques that will facilitate new depths to practice.
For the past 7 years, Julia has lived and trained in Goa, India. She was the YTTC Coordinator and Curriculum Writer at Kranti Yoga and Lead Trainer for the 300 hr YTTC in Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Adjustments, leading over 20 trainings in 4 years. During this time, she also led several 200 hr YTTCs at Los Clavos Surf Camp in Nicaragua where she was able to present the course alongside surf opportunities.
Previously a Mathematics High School Teacher, she quit this life to dedicate her time to her practice and teaching yoga. As a lifelong student, she is always keen to know more. Having recently trained with Patrick Beach and Carson Clay Calhoun, their inspiration is evident in her teachings.
Julia is currently the resident yoga teacher at Palm Trees Yoga School and Ayurvedic Retreat, Goa, where she hosts 200 and 300 hr YTTCs, Advanced CPD and Yoga Retreats.
Every day, she appreciates life in Goa and the opportunities presented daily for personal growth and development. She looks forward to seeing you in sunny Goa sometime soon.
