Heather’s love and devotion to her own personal transformation, balance, and fulfillment have provided her with the ability to compassionately and skillfully reveal what she has learned to her students and clients.  She sees the ancient teachings of yoga as the foundation for how she lives a balanced and meaningful life and incorporates this ancient science into all areas she studies and how she lives her life.  Heather believes Yoga is a way of life that has the capacity to transform any moment it is lived from darkness into Light, from fear to Love.  When she was asked to open a yoga studio, she took on the challenge wholeheartedly.   Heather ran, taught, and saw private clients at Santosha Yoga Studio in RI for 8 years before she sold the studio to 3 of her original students.

“Being a shy introvert when I agreed to open the studio, it was through the process of running the studio, teaching, managing, and inspiring; teachers, students, and volunteers that I truly found myself.  Yoga awakened me to my life and allowed me to not run away from it but to face the challenges I perceived.  Previously I felt too afraid and insignificant to share the inborn gifts I had with other people.  It was through practicing and teaching yoga that I realized how much Love I had to offer the world!”

Through her own experimentation and in-depth training, Heather, also known as Indu in the Yoga world, expresses the ancient teachings of yoga in a powerful and easy to comprehend way.  She now uses the wisdom she uncovered within herself to help reveal that same Light to those she mentors.   Heather lived and taught at a Yoga Ashram for 3 years, which helped her dive deep into the ancient Eastern philosophy and teachings of Yoga.

“Yoga is the foundational element I used to create a bridge between the part of myself that saw me as limited and my limitless self.  Because that bridge has now been created, I am devoted to helping others discover within themselves the same bridge.  The more I support another's personal growth and transformation, the more the bridge is strengthened within myself.  Therefore it is my heart-felt wish to do my job so well that my services become unnecessary.”

Heather has been practicing yoga since 2002 and took her first Yoga teacher training in 2006.  After continuing her education by taking Yoga Nidra, Advanced Yoga Nidra facilitator training, Advanced Yoga, and Yoga Body Psychology, she is registered with Yoga Alliance as an ERYT 500 and with the International Association of Yoga Therapists as a C-IAYT.  Heather is also a Certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant. She now trains Yoga Teachers in an 800-hour Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Program.

She has worked with clients privately for over 15 years and taught in all of the above-mentioned trainings.  Heather felt she had fulfilled her mission of supporting the Santosha community enough to step away and allow new leaders to emerge and continue their growth in RI.

Heather uses what she has learned to reveal to others their own personal strength, which facilitates living a purposeful and powerful life from a place of physical, mental, and emotional balance and joy.  She fuses what she learned from her studies in Yoga, psychology, Reiki, Thai, A Course in Miracles, and her own personal revelations creating a bridge to her limitless nature in order to reveal light and truth within her clients.

She currently lives and works out of her home in Southwestern Michigan.  An avid writer, check out her Words for the Soul Blog for inspiration and education in Yoga and many other topics. https://www.healingelementsforyou.com/wordsforthesoul
