Eileen Gulik received her doctorate in physical therapy from Regis University and her bachelor of arts degree from Knox College. In addition to her enthusiasm for working with musculoskeletal and neurological issues, Eileen has taken additional coursework to address pelvic health conditions (incontinence, pre and post-natal issues, pelvic pain, prolapse etc.) and vestibular impairments (headaches, dizziness, vertigo, loss of balance, post-concussion rehab, etc.) Prior to her physical therapy training, she taught yoga and meditation in Silicon Valley for 10 years, earning Yoga Alliance’s highest level of certification as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with over 2000 hours of training. She has also been involved in teaching many yoga teacher trainings in the Bay area and is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider
Eileen is equipped to help her clients by utilizing her unique combination of physical therapy and yoga/Ayurveda knowledge. She believes that health and happiness are based on alignment and balance of all layers of the self including the physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual layers of being. In yoga and Ayurveda these layers are called koshas. In physical therapy this is referred to as the biopsychosocial model of healthcare. Sessions with Eileen can include a variety of hands-on manual techniques, specific exercises from yoga and other movement traditions, an Ayurvedic assessment with personalized lifestyle guidelines, breathwork, and/or meditation. By combining all of these elements, Eileen utilizes a powerful approach to relieving pain and dysfunction for her clients.
Outside the clinic, Eileen is an avid hiker who likes to get outdoors as much as possible. Having been born and raised in Chicago, she is incredibly grateful for the lack of winter in the bay area. She enjoys yoga, pilates reformer, and running as her primary workouts. She also appreciates relaxing at home with her partner and their cat.
