I discovered the practice of Hatha Yoga (physical yoga postures) shortly after I finished college. Not fully understanding the workings of yoga did not hold me back from feeling the enormous effects of the tradition immediately. I was inspired from the first moment on my yoga mat that I immediately felt the passion to teach others. I first became certified to teach yoga in 2003. The style of my teaching is an eclectic blend of my original practice from NYC and Southern CT, as well as, what I learned with her wonderful teachers in the 10 years I lived in Colorado. I first became certified in March 2003 in Colorado Springs, CO. That same year, I discovered and completed a 200 hour training with Inner Connections Yoga (registered with Yoga Alliance). Since the start of my teaching I have complemented and expanded my yoga with numerous workshops, conferences and prenatal training with Hansa Knox and separately with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. In addition, teaching prenatal yoga inspired me to train as a labor doula in June of 2008. I enjoy teaching all levels of yoga, from gentle beginner to advanced vinyasa yoga. I specializes in kids yoga, family yoga, mom and baby yoga, partner yoga and prenatal yoga. I also have extensive study in restorative yoga and bring that knowledge into all classes. In 2009, I founded Bhogah Yoga School and began training yoga teachers at the 200 hour level under the requirements set by Yoga Alliance. The Bhogah Yoga School became approved to train prenatal yoga teachers by Yoga Alliance standards in 2012 and Children's yoga in 2013. I am excited to be teaching in my home state of Connecticut, hope to inspire my students to find their own yoga from within and feels blessed to connect with them on their path on this exciting journey.
Each and every year I find myself deepening my knowledge which broadens my repertoire of styles and knowledge I bring to my students. The trainings I have done in a more clinically focused format have inspired me to offer a 300 hour teacher training!
