NINA BE (MA, MEd, E-RYT-500, NCC, IAYT) is the Director of MindBody Centering Yoga. She is a master yoga teacher, certified counselor, and writer, who has been teaching, choreographing and designing wellness programs internationally for over 35 years. Her successful RYT 200 & 300 Certification Programs of MindBody Centering Yoga are currently being offered at Global Breath Studio in Durham, North Carolina.
As founder and co-director of the 501(c)3 LiveGlobally, her vision of quelling children’s global poverty through the practice of mindful yoga in community has begun by supporting the building of a school in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, for the Ingrid Children Education Centre.
Nina began exploring Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais and kinesthesiology to avoid knee surgery. The devotion of her teachers Melanie Fawer (one of the first women to be sanctioned to teach Ashtanga by Pattabhi Jois) and Bhakti Yogi Sean Johnson of Wild Lotus, fostered Nina's practice of and desire to share a centered life. After completing her RYT certifications with BMC mentor Lisa Clark, and Dharma Mittra she crafted MindBody Centering Teacher Trainings and Retreats, programs that uniquely blend methodologies and practices from the Iyengar, Ashtanga, Classical, Kundalini, Yoga Nidra, Nada, and Restorative Yoga traditions. Nina's teachings are enriched by the experience of meditation retreats she has shared with master teachers Pema Chodron, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the Dalai Lama and Thich Nhat Hanh.
Nina Be developed MindBody Centering Yoga to provide yoga, community, and mindfulness for individuals, families, groups, universities and corporations.
Nina also has a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling (2004) and is professionally certified as a National Certified Counselor (NCC #8702), Yoga Teacher (E-RYT-500). She is certified by Amy Weintraub in Lifeforce Yoga for Depression and Anxiety, by Richard Miller in iRest Yoga Nidra.
