She has made it her lifes work to share the demystified evidenced-based benefits of yoga, to help empower her clients. Mary's approach is to get to know the whole client and to create a program not only focused on their physical needs, but to better enhance their activities of daily living, reduce stress and raise their overall happiness factor!
Mary is a Senior Master Trainer with YogaFit Training Systems Worldwide traveling extensively teaching teachers and specializing in trauma informed yoga (PTSD/TBI/Addiction and Recovery/Anxiety and Depression). Originally from Pittsburgh, she is based in Lothian, MD and teaches both group classes of all levels and private sessions, guiding people towards balance both on and off the mat. As a military spouse and trainer, she has seen first hand the effects of trauma not only in our military community and their families but all who serve, such as our first responders and the effects on their families as well. Yoga has been shown to be a safe and effect movement modality that releases chronic stress and trauma. It is also a helpful tool for special conditions such as cardiac rehabilitation, memory care and cancer. Every body and every age can practice yoga. Mary is a 20+ year veteran of the fitness industry as a manager, fitness program designer, lecturer, presenter, studio owner and author of two training manuals for older adults. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, C-IAYT, and an ACE Group Fitness Instructor.
While yoga is her life, Mary is also a devoted mom of two, a wife, loves to read, travel and spend time with her cats and grand-doggy.
