Balaganesh Sivaprakasam, shortly Bala, was born in a village close to Auroville, Pondicherry, India . He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a degree in Business Management. He worked in corporate sector for 10 years in various fields like Wind energy, interior design and organic food products.
He had his first experience of yoga while he was living in Amsterdam. After his return to India & practicing with wonderful teachers in various styles like Sivananda style of Classical Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Prana vaishya yoga for many years, he started teaching yoga in India and abroad .
He is the founder of Bala yoga school , which specializes in organizing Teacher Training courses in India and abroad. Being from a varied specialization , Bala , organizes life changing yoga retreats in stunning locations in India and abroad , for people who are looking for real change in life.
He volunteers in organic premaculture projects in Auroville and in his spare time run a small NGO for the care of street dogs and is learning Kerala martial art form Kalaripayatu.
He firmly believes that every one should take care of their physical and mental health , as it is the best gift we can give to our friends and family .
