Crystal Krause, E-RYT 500, Owner and President of Power Moves Yoga (RYS)
As I began my yoga practice, it became clear this style of practice aligned with my personal goals. It was the only routine which improved my overall well being. With a background in gymnastics and dance, the physical aspect of yoga felt natural and intuitive. Since then, yoga has become my sole focus because it strengthens me on numerous levels through incorporating various practices. As a seasoned personal trainer and group fitness instructor, my experience in the yoga community has been focused on developing and maintaining high standards in teaching techniques. This quickly led me to developing and executing yoga teacher training programs. Early in 2016, I opened my own yoga studio and school, Power Moves Yoga, serving the Fox River Valley. I am dedicated to raising the vibrations of health and happiness through yoga because it has brought equilibrium and harmony in my life.
Public Classes:
I love teaching my public classes because I find it very rewarding to be part a practitioner's yogic path. I work with people on a physical level first through my teaching methods, and inspire them to develop a well-rounded and unique yoga life-practice by getting involved in the various styles and trainings I host. My restorative yoga class encourages stillness and peace on your journey. My power-vinyasa class is focused on alignment and safety, but also emphasizes breaking out of self-imposed boundaries and empowering a practitioner's abilities to test their limits. Finally, my strength class is created to give fitness enthusiasts a familiar entry point into a yoga practice. In addition to regular weekly classes, I host workshops and programs which dive deeper into some of my most passionate subjects. Some workshops include Inversions, Meditation, Chakra Studies, and Myofascial Release. Finally, I commonly host a Kid's Yoga Program, which teaches critical skills including positive affirmations, mindfulness, visualization, body awareness, and stress management.
Teacher Development Programs:
After teaching and creating a strong following in the community, I found it would be impossible to touch as many lives with yoga as I would like to. To broaden my reach, I concentrated on training and developing instructors to utilize high standards and principles in their teaching. I began hosting Teacher Training programs for entry-level (200-Hour) teachers and advanced (300/500-Hour) yoga teachers at Power Moves Yoga. I know I have so much to share with the yoga community from my experience as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and athletic coach. I've combined the lessons from my experience in these roles along with the multiple yoga trainings I've participated in from around the world. After developing several teachers in various formats, I feel an abundance of gratitude and assurance for the teachers who graduated from our program as they enter the community. These individuals are all paving their own path, but I do believe they contribute to pursuing my vision of raising the vibrations of health and happiness everywhere through yoga and meditation.
Beyond the Mat:
I take yoga off the mat by incorporating mindful purchase decisions, dietary choices, selfless service to the community, and a consistent mantra practice. My specialized experience with yoga, pursuit in mind-valley academy, and strong foundation in fitness training empowers me to cultivate a wonderful community of yoga practitioners. By inspiring the public to embrace yoga along with mindfulness, I truly believe I can create an upward spiral of positivity in people's lives.
