Sama Yoga House is a haven for individuals seeking to create a strong and supportive community through the transformative power of yoga. With a focus on cultivating the presence of mind, body, and spirit, this yoga house offers a space where individuals can come together to practice and grow together. Through the practice of yoga, participants not only strengthen their physical bodies but also develop a deeper connection with themselves and others.
Sama Yoga House believes that we are stronger together, and by fostering a sense of unity and support, they aim to create a space where individuals can thrive and uplift one another on their journey toward self-discovery and personal growth.
Our diverse teaching staff draw from both their extensive studies and their lived experience of yoga to share in an approachable and authentic way. All of our teachers have at least 10 years of experience as teacher trainers and come from all over the world.
Sama Yoga House at the 200-hour level provides students with a solid background in both flow styles of practice and alignment. Over 21 days, our students learn the key components of a well-rounded practice through a foundational sequence and then are able to add nuance through various sequencing methods and teaching techniques to bring in other limbs of yoga to their classes.
In our school, the term vinyasa means a mindful and skillful approach to creating classes. Graduates from our program learn skills that support them in creating classes that reflect their own insights and personal approaches to practice. We support each student to bring their unique voice and offering to this ever-growing and evolving practice of yoga.
Our 200-hour students are introduced to the traditional roots of yoga, including an introduction to Ayurveda, the energetic body and chakras, Sanskrit, and the yoga sutras. In addition to this, we complement tradition with self-inquiry, the science behind the limbs, and direct ways to bring the tools of yoga into modern, everyday life.
The practical skills we cover include practice teaching with feedback, hands-on assisting, understanding in personal practice, applied anatomy and alignment, verbal cues, and more. For more detailed information, please visit the Sama Yoga House website.
Our 300-hour program takes a deeper dive into all areas of our 200-hour program, offering modules in six areas of study over 28 days, teachers dive deeper into ayurveda, mindfulness and meditation, sequencing and teaching skills, yin and restorative yoga, applied anatomy and therapeutics, and philosophy. We will be launching our 300-hour program in early 2025.
Our high-quality destination retreat teacher trainings are held on campuses located in Costa Rica, Bali, and Thailand. All our locations are nestled in tranquil beachfront centers that offer the expansiveness of the ocean and the opportunity to sync up with nature. We bring attention to our relationship with the earth and the elements and create seva (selfless service) projects in each training as a way to give back to the communities and land that host us.
