Founded by Gitte Bechsgaard RP, Ph.D. CIYT and Professor Gillian McCann Ph.D. under the tutelage of their guru Sri Krishan Mantri, Vidya Institute has long been known for it's dedication to an integrative and classical approach to the teachings of the 5 Pillars of what yoga once meant to all practitioners the world over.

With their faculty's history of private study with B.K.S. Iyengar & Krishan Mantriji, along with their decades of collective teaching experience of Yoga Practice, Pranayama, and Vedic scripture alike, many experienced yoga teachers from all schools of practice come to Vidya Institute in order to understand the roots of their practice.

They come to discover how Patanjali's Yoga Sutras guided B.K.S. Iyengar in his creation of the innovative and often misunderstood "Iyengar Yoga". Students discover how to decipher the intentionally encrypted meanings lying beneath the esoteric yogic texts, then often guided through those techniques by experienced Senior Iyengar teachers.
