As Amaratva yoga, we share the depth, joy and transformative power of Integral hatha yoga. Integral yoga integrates all the branches of yoga and has as an aim to engage the entire field of the human structure and to refine the energies and center the awareness into the heart of existence. The ultimate goal is meditation, a state of union. To reach this union, we work from the gross to the subtle. According to traditional yogic teachings, the grossest layer is the physical body. We start in hahta yoga with shatkarmas, kriyas, asanas and breath awareness/breathing techniques to harmonize the functions of the physical body. This includes asana alignment and syncronization between body, breath and mind. On the mental and energetic level, we deepen by gradually introducing students into pranayama methods, chakras and more subtle kriyas. We use as well chanting and mantras to evoke guidance, harmony and peace. Ultimately yoga leads us to meditation and awareness of our true nature. We are very inspired by the teachings of Ramana Maharshi who pointed again and again to the source of our true nature through questions like:‘ Who am I?’, ‘From where does this ‘I’ arise?’ ‘What is the source of all this’. Yoga, Meditation, sacred ceremonies are all just a variety of fingers that point us the the same moon. Stillness, silence, existence, awareness, peace, bliss, according to the sages are our true inherent nature. As Swami Shivananda said ‘Penetrate into the hidden depths of the vast ocean of eternal life within.’
We invite you to share this beautiful unfolding journey we call life with us though Yoga, Meditation, Ceremony.
‘Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go do it. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive.’ - Howard Thurman
