As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.
Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.
By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Training with The Institute of Yoga Sports Science was so much more than I expected. As someone who is interested in teaching the benefits of yoga to everyday athletes (meaning everyday people, living everyday lives) I was hesitant at first about whether this was the right course for me. Immediately, when I started, I knew I made the right decision. The way that Hayley and the YSS team approach the teaching of yoga is from a scientific, biomechanics perspective that helps to build a strong foundation to understand the movement of the body. Once you understand the body from this approach, it becomes so much easier to apply the benefits of yoga to everyone, from everyday people to elite athletes. Biomechanics is as important to the study of yoga as fascia is to the body. Learning the language and the science of movement in this way has helped me to feel much more confident in how I approach my students. I feel I have the vocabulary that can be understood by people who may otherwise think that yoga is woo-woo or too spiritual. The Institute of Yoga Sports Science, Hayley and the whole team, are truly the experts in their field. Another thing to be aware of, it that they have been teaching online for over a decade! They really understand how to guide their students in the online space with so much support and ease. The online community is a huge support and the tutoring system and workshops work so well that it really feels like an elite learning experience. If you're skeptical about learning online, I would just say that you get what you put into it. If you show up to the community and engage in the program, you will really see that this a wonderful way to learn. It offers both flexibility and support to your lifestyle in a way that allows you to build it around your busy life. So much gratitude for this training in helping me to learn these game-changing techniques to support my yoga journey. Can't recommend enough.

Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to further their knowledge of yoga. I found this extremely beneficial in understanding how to use yoga with athletes! I have been working with many athletes and their view of yoga has changed in a good way! They love the less is more approach and are enjoying learning more about how yoga can help them in their every day life as well as within their sport.

The Institute of Sports Science® offers invaluable training. This training teaches you how to integrate yoga into an athletes training/competing/working schedule in a managable and efficient way. This style of yoga works for athletes of all types and levels, AND it prepares you to work with the general public. Haley, Bonnie, and the rest of the YSS team are kind, welcoming, and experienced. I feel very confident in my skills as a Yoga Sports Coach™. It is a pricey program, but training is worth the money.

What it is: This course trains you to become a Yoga Sports Coach™ - applying the benefits of sports-specific yoga appropriately to athletes as well as apply the same techniques to the general public. This program, with rich content, allowed me to deep-dive in topics such as Injury Management, Physical- and Mental Performance & Biomechanics, while also learning more common yoga foundations such as Breath-work and Anatomy (amongst others). What it is not: If you're looking for a specific course with deep-dives into the direction of yoga philosophy, this would not be the course for you.

YSS Yoga is a wonderful program! I was able to gain a lot of great knowledge and now feel very comfortable working yoga into an athletes training with ease.
