“Yoga for Your Life" is a nationally recognized Yoga Alliance Registered Teaching School & Training Program for both current & aspiring teachers, and for serious students wishing to deepen their understanding of Hatha Yoga philosophy & techniques. In this comprehensive certification program you will learn the art and craft of teaching Yoga to students of all ages and levels of ability. Upon completion, you will be certified to teach professionally and eligible to join the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher at either the 200 or 500-hour level. The 200-hour program starts September 2013, and includes 11 weekend sessions, as well as homework assignments. The 500-hour program (300 additional hours added to your 200 hours) begins in April 2014, under the Yogamocean branch of the school. We hope you will join us for these unique and dynamic programs! Our approach stems organically from many years of teaching experience and training new Yoga teachers. The curriculum we have developed comes from studying different Yoga traditions to give you a broader picture of how to practice and teach. The course is intended to deepen each student’s personal practice as the foundation for teaching others, so a strong emphasis will be on developing and maintaining your own practice. Our Style is Hatha Yoga, and is presented with an emphasis on precise mechanical alignment and effective sequencing. Yoga For Your Life offers a blend of teachings from different Yogic traditions and understandings so that students are directed in different practices & customs. We are extremely fortunate to have gathered so many expert teachers into one program, and to have such a lovely spiritual space in which to practice and study. Content: Yoga for Your Life offers an innovative, well-rounded syllabus that follows Yoga Alliance standards. The course includes instruction and practice in all aspects of Hatha Yoga including asana (poses), pranayama (principles of the breath and breathing techniques), meditation, physical and energetic anatomy and physiology, mudras, Ayurveda, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga for special populations including children, prenatal, and others. Expert in-depth instruction in both functional and dynamic anatomy and physiology will give you a solid foundation from which to teach. We teach how to safely & effectively practice and teach over 50 poses using correct alignment, and learn to sequence your classes in a meaningful way. You'll learn about using props, assists, & modifications in your classes. You will also learn about the Yoga lifestyle, and about Yoga’s history & philosophies, including contemporary insights. Blended with these teachings are other important topics to round out your Yoga education, including Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, ethical considerations, opening your own studio, and the legal and business sides of teaching. Our highly trained teachers have over 100 years of combined teaching experience, and each is an expert in their field. We offer the most experienced and highly-trained faculty in the area who have been training area Yoga teachers and Yoga studio owners for years.

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Yoga Alliance Registry’s Policy on the Use of Yoga therapy Terms in its directory was announced on Jan 25, 2016. Prior to that date, reviews may have contained such references to yoga therapy. Yoga Alliance Registry will not alter the content of preexisting reviews to bring them into compliance with its new policy. Any use of "yoga therapy" terms in a review, however, does not imply that Yoga Alliance Registry sets standards for instruction in yoga therapy techniques or other methods of diagnosing or treating a mental or physical injury or illness, nor that the RYS or RYT designation may be relied on as a qualification for working as a "yoga therapist" or for training others in "yoga therapy" methods.
