By creating or renewing this Registered Yoga School account, you are entering into a legal agreement with Yoga Alliance Registry.  Specifically, you represent that you are a legal owner of the school for which you are creating or renewing the account, and you represent that all information you enter in creating or renewing the account is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.  As a school owner, you authorize Yoga Alliance Registry to review the school’s credentials or those of its faculty, and to request updated information at any time, to assure the school meets the requirements for the registry.  You agree to abide by all applicable policies of the Yoga Alliance Registry, including the Trademark Usage Guidelines at www.yogaalliance.org/trademark, and the terms and conditions below.  

 

 

Registration with Yoga Alliance Registry allows the Registered Yoga School to use the “RYS” designation and to list the school in the Yoga Alliance Registry.  Occasionally, ownership and staffing changes can lead to disputes about who has the right to use the RYS designation.  The RYS designation denotes that the school has met the Yoga Alliance Registry standards, so it is not a designation that can simply be transferred to another school by agreement.  Because the RYS registration reflects that the registered school has a syllabus and trainers meeting Yoga Alliance Registry’s standard, it cannot be transferred to a school with a different syllabus and trainers.  Rather, a new RYS application should be submitted for the other school. 

Upon registration with Yoga Alliance Registry, we request that schools list all owners.  Existing RYSs will be required to confirm or update ownership information on renewal of their registration.  If you designate any other persons as owners of your school, you are not delegating administrative duties to them, but rather, you are affirming that they have legal ownership interest in the school with authority to make any changes to your RYS record, and they are subject to this RYS Ownership Agreement.  Only owners may add new owners.  To remove an owner from an RYS, such person must remove themselves through the online system.  

Only owners listed with Yoga Alliance Registry will have the authority to change the name of an existing RYS.  For schools with more than one owner, any single owner may take this action.  Other updates to the listing may be made either by listed owners or by persons identified in the application or in the RYS online account as staff for the RYS.  

Yoga Alliance Registry reserves the right to suspend or revoke any RYS listing if the school violates any of our policies, fails to pay dues or fees owed when due, has undergone changes such that it no longer meets the applicable RYS standards, or has falsely represented that the school meets the RYS standards.
