"Yoga Alliance is indebted to those who raised their hands to help – and there were thousands of you who participated through our global survey or who shared your input in other ways - helping us to shape and construct these initial outcomes.

The results are truly representative of yoga today, and we thank you for that. Overall, we heard the yoga community clearly ask us to reinforce our credentials, update our curriculum, and create a shared scope of practice and code of conduct among our members.

These updates foster quality and safety in yoga teaching with a comprehension of and appreciation for equity in yoga and an elevated public understanding of the yoga teaching profession. These standards also will hold us to a consistent baseline of learning, capability, and accountability."
